The exploits of center fielder Duncan Witteman, who is tied for 9th in the 3R with a .330 batting average, helped the Ellesmere Island Snowpeople defeat the Bompton Baby Lakers, 3-2. Witteman was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. Ellesmere Island reliever George Kipcak picked up the win, upping his record to 1-2. George Tas shouldered the loss. The Snowpeople improve their record to 36-47 with the win over Bompton.
Armond Buonaiuti tagged a home run off George Tas in the top of the third. His 2-run blast put the Snowpeople on top, 2-0. In all, Buonaiuti had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 5.
"It feels good to get this one," Buonaiuti told the Ellesmere Island Gazette.
