Behind a solid performance from shortstop Joy-shan Kao, the Germantown Uruguayans defeated the Valley View Cougars, 8-4. Kao went 3 for 4 with a double and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Uruguayans. Owen Schultz was the winning pitcher. Over 8 innings, he allowed 4 runs on 6 hits, with 1 walk and 3 strikeouts. The winning streak has now reached 5 games for Germantown.
In the bottom of the first inning, left fielder José Ortega came through big-time for the Uruguayans. With Germantown leading 1-0, he belted a 2-run home run.
