Cougars Win in Extras
|
The inspired effort of Newcastle first baseman Seung-hwan Pak was not enough to prevent a 7-4 loss to the Valley View Cougars. Pak went 4 for 6 with a double, 3 singles, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs. With the win, Valley View has a record of 50-42. Newcastle falls to 44-48.
This game was not decided until late. With one out in the top of the 16th, Lucas Hancox hit a sacrifice fly. The Cougars took the lead, 5-4.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Hancox told the Valley View Chronicle.
