Mermen Suffer 9-6 Loss to Warheads

It was a good time at Ballpark of Henderson, where fans came to watch the Newcastle Mermen and Amarillo Warheads get after it.
The Amarillo Warheads dealt the Newcastle Mermen a 9-6 loss at Ballpark of Henderson. Kevin Bates was the star on offense. He was 3-4 with a double and 2 singles. He scored 2 times. Al Turner earned the win for Amarillo. He lasted 6 innings, allowing 5 earned runs on 7 hits, while striking out 3. With the win, he raised his record to 6-3.
Andy Garnet could have done more damage. In the top of the seventh, with Newcastle trailing 9-4, Newcastle had the bases loaded. That's when Garnet grounded out, driving in 1 run. But it was not enough. Amarillo would go on to win the game.
Amarillo is now 55-33, 3 games up in the Division 1.
