Nicolas 'Lights Out' in Gibtown Win
|
Patrick Nicolas never let Surprise get something going. The Gibtown right-hander commanded his fastball in pitching the Elephants to a 5-1 win. Gibtown currently is in second place in the at 51-31.
The Elephants liked what they saw from Nicolas. The 19-year old pitcher had a commanding presence on the mound, limiting the Shockers to 1 earned run on 3 hits over 8.1 innings, and striking out 14.
"I thought we played a nice game," Nicolas told the Gibtown Today. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
