The Tulsa Otters wasted an impressive 7-inning effort from starter Shaun Stroud, falling 2-1 to the Greenport Harbor Whales at Ballpark of Robbins. Myeong-hun Tae picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 6-4. Shaun Stroud was tagged with the loss. Jim Perry, credited with the save, is now 3 for 3 in save opportunities.
A key at-bat in the game came in the bottom of the second inning when the Harbor Whales sent teenager Jacques Devaux to the plate against Otters hurler Shaun Stroud. With a runner on 1st and a whole stadium watching, the kid controlled his nerves and delivered huge, hitting a single off a 1-0 splitter to score 1.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Devaux told the Greenport Today.
The Otters, now 38-44, have lost 4 in a row.
