McIndeor 4-5, Elephants Move to 49-30
|
The Gibtown Elephants bested the Greenport Harbor Whales, 11-3, at Wrigley Field. Kevin McIndeor was named player of the game. He went 4-5 with 2 doubles and 2 singles. He drove in 6 runs and scored once. Dan Wilson got the win, improving to 9-2. He worked 6.2 innings, giving up 3 runs on 6 hits, while striking out 8 and walking 3. Paco Garza picked up the save, his 1st.
McIndeor came through with some timely hitting for Gibtown. With the score 3-3 in the bottom of the fifth and one down, McIndeor hit a first pitch fastball for a run-scoring double. His 14th double of the season made it 4-3, Gibtown.
"It's good to win," McIndeor told the Gibtown Today. "I like to have fun doing it."
Gibtown is now 49-30. Greenport is 35-44.
