Ogallala turned a good effort from starter Chi-young Zamora into a win over the Surprise Shockers at ďAbbots Ballpark. The final score was 4-2. Zamora went 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 1, and struck out 8. His record improves to 4-2. Pepe Pereira closed the door for Ogallala, picking up his 5th save of the year.
A key at-bat in the game came in the top of the seventh inning when the Octopi sent teenager Milojica Kordic to the plate against Shockers hurler Jack Crabb. With runners on 1st and 2nd and a whole stadium watching, the kid controlled his nerves and delivered huge, hitting a double off a 1-2 fastball to score 1.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Kordic. "And not try to do too much."
Ogallala is now 40-35, Surprise 33-42.
