Otters Sneak Past Shockers, 2-1
|
The Tulsa Otters eked out a 2-1 win versus the Surprise Shockers at Ballpark of Hughesville. Nobody did more than pitcher Kingston Liniak, who captured player of the game honors. Tulsa reliever Jim Stanton picked up the win, upping his record to 4-1. Tao Seto absorbed the loss. Dou-guan Shao was called on to finish, recording his 2nd save.
Tulsa grabbed control in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, Lloyd Solleveld delivered a run-scoring single, to make it 2-1 in favor of the Otters.
"We need to keep playing good baseball," Liniak told the Tulsa Gazette.
Tulsa has now won 3 in a row.
