Northern Lions BC Lose to Cattlemen, 5-2
|
Ft. Worth Cattlemen starter Robbie Betchley pitched a strong game against the Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC at The Cattle Pen, leading the Cattlemen to a 5-2 win. Nicholas Wells earned the save for Ft. Worth, his 6th of the year. Ft. Worth has now won 3 straight, while the Northern Lions BC have lost 3 in a row.
Rick Mayfield, who is tied for 2nd in the SL with a .336 batting average, aided the Ft. Worth cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the right fielder went 1-3.
"I thought we played a nice game," Betchley told the Ft. Worth Herald. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
