Both teams had their chances, but the Hudsonville Flanderses eventually prevailed at Field of the Toros.

Cristián Álvarez pitched a gem to lead Hudsonville to a 2-1 victory over the Ballard Beavers. The win was credited to António García in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Rubén Elejarde took the loss.

Ids Ulderink was the walk-off hero for Hudsonville. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Flanderses designated hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"I'm proud of the boys for pulling through," said Flanderses manager Craig Sunter. "The wins don't come easy for this team, but everyone's got an extra jump in their step after a game like this."

The Flanderses are off to a tough start, getting just their 5th win in 13 games.
