Denis Higgins had a good game, but he could not keep the Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC from falling, 8-5, to the Wizarding Express at Platform 9 3/4. The Thunder Bay shortstop went 3-4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once in the loss. Wizarding is now 17-18, while Thunder Bay is 18-17.

Had Nathan Tanner not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Tanner hit a 2-run single. That made the score 5-4, in favor of the Express.

"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Tanner.
