Aviators Win in Glorious Fashion
|
Fans who gathered at Boeing Dome saw a good contest between the Seattle Aviators and Ft. Worth Cattlemen.
The Seattle Aviators did just enough to sneak past the Ft. Worth Cattlemen, 4-3, at Boeing Dome. Seattle pitcher José Muńóz earned player of the game honors. The winner was Holden Rosen Grupp in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Nicholas Wells took the loss.
The Aviators were down to their last out in the bottom of the ninth when second baseman José Rodríguez turned a first pitch fastball from Nicholas Wells into a 2-run single. The walk-off single sent a roar through the crowd and gave Seattle a thrilling 4-3 win.
"I'm proud of the boys for pulling through," said Aviators manager Mau Delgado. "The wins don't come easy for this team, but everyone's got an extra jump in their step after a game like this."
With the win, Seattle has a record of 14-21. Ft. Worth falls to 16-19.
