The Capital Hill Interns got a sterling performance from pitcher Yeijiro Sakei, but the Sun Sox still prevailed, 6-5. Sakei was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He threw 7 innings allowing 2 runs. Winter Haven reliever Sjelle Matena picked up the win to move to 1-2. Evan Studs suffered the loss. After today's action, Winter Haven sits at 16-24, while Capital Hill falls to 22-18.

Félix Castellanos had the most critical at-bat for Winter Haven. With one in the top of the 11th inning, Castellanos hit a first pitch forkball from Evan Studs for a run-scoring double. It put Winter Haven in front, 6-5.
