Big Day for Berneu as Thundercats Down Cattlemen, 6-3
|
Benefiting from an exceptional performance from Anselmo Berneu, the Richardson City Thundercats defeated the Ft. Worth Cattlemen, 6-3. Berneu was 3-5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4 for the Thundercats. Richardson City reliever Armando Gonzáles was credited with the win, to go to 2-1. Nicholas Wells took the loss for Ft. Worth. The Thundercats' win now puts them at 12-16.
Berneu had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a full count fastball from Nicholas Wells, he banged a 3-run home run to left-center, giving the Thundercats a 6-3 lead. It was the 8th home run of the year for Berneu.
"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Berneu.
