The Ladue Rams picked up a win at ïAbbots Ballpark, knocking off the Surprise Shockers, 4-3. Starting pitcher Jason Breary was an essential part of his team's success. Breary went 8.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 8 hits, walked 1, and struck out 5. His record improves to 5-3. Ladue is now 20-26, while Surprise is 19-27.
Tied up with the Shockers in the top of the fifth inning, the Rams got a boost from designated hitter Rafael García. With the bases loaded, García saw a 1-0 splitter from José Castillo and hit a run-scoring single to break the stalemate and put Ladue on top, 3-2.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Breary told the Ladue Daily.
