Octopi Bridle Shockers, 3-2

The Ogallala Octopi topped the Surprise Shockers, 3-2, in USPL Rookie action at ďAbbots Ballpark. The player of the game was Ogallala pitcher Ignacio Uribe. Uribe picked up the win for Ogallala, going 7.1 innings. He gave up 1 run on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 3-3. The Octopi saw their record improve to 18-16.
Tied up with the Shockers in the top of the fifth inning, the Octopi got a boost from catcher Sehinsah Al-Fanari. With the bases loaded, Al-Fanari saw a 1-1 fastball from Tony Castro and hit a bases-clearing triple to break the stalemate and put Ogallala on top, 3-0.
"I was a little disappointed," said Surprise manager Eric Henley. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
