York Strokes 5 Hits
|
It was a sensational day at the plate for Keith York as he led the charge to a 5-4 win over the Clippers. The Phoenix shortstop was pure misery for the San Diego pitching staff. He left them shell-shocked with 5 hits in 5 at-bats in an explosive display of hitting.
"York put the ball into play and he really hit it hard," said Dexter Shannon, manager for the Clippers, after the game. "When you do that, you've got a good chance to do some damage. And that's what happened. I feel like we threw some good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball."
Keith York hit an RBI single in the 1st, walked in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI double in the 7th, singled in the 9th and singled in the 12th.
This year York has hit at a .299 clip with 10 RBIs, no home runs and 6 runs scored.
