Octopi Pull Even With 4-3 Victory
|
The Ogallala Octopi overcame a good performance by Gibtown third baseman Luis Romero to knock off Gibtown, 4-3, at Nebraska Aquarium. Romero was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. Ángel Herrera earned the save for Ogallala, his 3rd. Ogallala is 15-15 and Gibtown, with the loss, 17-13.
In the bottom of the sixth, Ogallala right fielder Esteban Piñeiro had a productive at-bat. With runners on 2nd and 3rd and two out, Piñeiro stroked a run-scoring single to center. It made the score 4-3, Ogallala. For the game, he went 2-4 with a double.
"We're all smiles after that win," Piñeiro told the Ogallala Citizen.
