Starting pitcher Miguel Peña pitched well enough to help the Fort Knox Centennial beat the Ogallala Octopi by the score of 9-3. Peña, now 6-0, was the winner. In 7.2 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 11, walking 2, and allowing 3 earned runs. The Centennial are now 16-11, while the Octopi fall to 12-15.
Maxence Sultanbekov hit a 2-run double off Maik van Osch in the top of the fifth, which put the Centennial in front, 4-3. In addition to the double, Sultanbekov had 1 single, while going 2 for 5.
"Miguel was throwing strikes, locating well," said Fort Knox manager Martin Richards.
