Victory Pushes Centennial Record to 13-6
|
Fort Knox rode a decent outing from starter Miguel Peña to victory over the San Diego Clippers at Mean Green Ballpark. The final score was 4-2. In 7.1 innings, Peña surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 9 and walking 1. He allowed 2 runs. Fort Knox, now 13-6, has played well in the early going.
Carlos Muñóz, who is tied for 4th in the PR in total bases with 46, helped out the Fort Knox cause in the top of the sixth inning with a run-scoring double. For the game, the third baseman was 1-4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs.
"I thought we played a nice game," Peña told the Fort Knox Herald. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
