Big Day for Baroncelli as Centennial Down Elephants, 10-5
The Fort Knox Centennial topped the Gibtown Elephants, 10-5, with youngster Desiderio Baroncelli playing a key role. Baroncelli went 4-5 with a double and 3 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4 for the Centennial in the win. Fort Knox has a record of 8-4.

Dick Melton had a big run-scoring single for the Centennial in the bottom of the second inning. With Fort Knox trailing 2-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a slider from Mario Sánchez and stroked the single to right. It was his 2nd hit of the season, and more importantly, it put the Centennial ahead, 2-1.

"We'll savor this win," Baroncelli told the Fort Knox Herald, "then get ready for the next game."
