River Rats Run Win Streak to 14
|
The Columbia River Rats picked up a win at Hotspur Kiddie Complex, knocking off the Phoenix Hotspur U-21, 2-1. Starting pitcher José Marín was an essential part of his team's success. The winning pitcher was Marín, now 5-1. He tossed 6 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 6. Kit Scheetz closed the door for Columbia, picking up his 16th save of the year.
Landon Harryman, who was drafted in the three round of the 2029 draft, helped out the Columbia cause in the top of the sixth inning with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. For the game, the left fielder drew 1 walk in 4 trips to the plate.
"I was a little disappointed," said Phoenix manager Howard Martínez. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
The winning continues for Columbia, with the latest making it 14 straight.
