Guzzlers Throttle Tula, 8-0
|
Galesburg Guzzlers starter Robby Oglethorpe turned in a top-notch performance against the Chicago Tula at Galesburg Field. The result was a win for the Guzzlers, 8-0. The winning pitcher was Oglethorpe, now 3-4. He tossed 5.2 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 9. Franklin Camarena finished to wrap up his 3rd save.
Manny Diéguez drew 1 walk for Galesburg. The 19-year old third baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the second. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring walk off Tsu-wee Qi. It was his 10th walk of the season.
"We came out aggressive," said Guzzlers manager Rickey Burrell. "We came out swinging the bats."
The Tula, now 17-24, have lost 4 in a row.
