Northern Lions BC Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Thundercats
|
The Richardson City Thundercats got a superb performance from pitcher Juan Valéncia, but the Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC still won the game, 4-2. Valéncia was named the player of the game despite the loss. He threw 7 innings of 2-hit ball. Stewart Fleming was the winner. Over 7.1 innings, he allowed 2 runs on 4 hits, with 1 walk and 3 strikeouts. Anatoly Ivanovich earned the save for Thunder Bay, his 5th of the year.
Carlos Padilla made it 3-2 in favor of Thunder Bay when he delivered a run-scoring single. It came with one out in the top of the eighth. The Northern Lions BC went on to win.
Padilla told a Thunder Bay Citizen reporter that he was "pleased as punch" with the win.
The Thundercats fall to 7-10 and continue their lackluster start to the 2032 season.
