Hotspur U-21 Fall Short at Idaho Falls
|
Phoenix got a terrific performance from pitcher Eduardo Arroyo, but it wasn't enough to beat the Idaho Falls Chukars. Idaho Falls won the Idaho Falls Park contest, 3-2. Arroyo was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 6 innings allowing 2 runs. Idaho Falls reliever Carlton Roberts picked up the win, bumping his record to 2-1. José Vásquez was collared with the loss. Fei-hsien Cuan earned his 4th save in 4 tries.
Idaho Falls took the lead in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and the bases loaded, Jesús Sosa stroked a run-scoring single to make it 3-2, Chukars.
"I really like what we did out there today," Sosa said after the game.
The win lifts Idaho Falls to a record of 8-10.
