The Columbia River Rats eked out a 7-6 win versus the Chicago Tula at Ramblers Ballpark. Nobody did more than designated hitter Werner Bowman, who captured player of the game honors. Columbia reliever Eric Foster picked up the win to move to 2-0. Kent Randall suffered the loss. The win takes Columbia to 7-4.

The most critical at-bat came in the top of the ninth inning. With one out, Seika Hagiwara hit a 2-2 cutter from Kent Randall for a run-scoring single. It put Columbia in front, 7-6.

"We got the victory," said Hagiwara. "That's all that matters at the end of the day."
