Late Rally by Chukars Secures Win
|
The Idaho Falls Chukars faced a tough opponent in South Beach pitcher Will McLeod, but did just enough to pull out the victory at The Ballpark on the Beach by a final score of 4-1. McLeod went 8.2 innings and allowed 4 earned runs. The win was credited to Ed Shreves in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Will McLeod took the loss. Idaho Falls is still hoping to get on a roll. The win is just their 2nd in 5 games.
Paul Evison chipped in for Idaho Falls with a 3-run home run in the top of the ninth. For the game, the designated hitter had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 3 RBI.
"I'm proud of the boys for pulling through," said Chukars manager Tim Nelson. "The wins don't come easy for this team, but everyone's got an extra jump in their step after a game like this."
