Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the Idaho Falls Chukars got the win.
Idaho Falls shortstop Alje de Gast made his presence felt in the 4-3 Chukars triumph over the South Beach Blaze. de Gast was 3 for 4 with 3 singles. The save went to Fei-hsien Cuan, his 1st this season.
Paul Evison had a clutch at-bat with one out in the top of the eighth for the Chukars. Coming up with the bases loaded and Idaho Falls trailing 3-2, he hit a 2-run single.
"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," South Beach manager Jared Gilbert said following the tough loss.
The Chukars have stumbled out of the gate, getting only their 1st win in 4 games.
