Late Rally by Generals Secures Win
|
The Washington Generals faced a tough opponent in Grim pitcher Bryan Mason, but did just enough to pull out the victory at The Coffin by a final score of 4-3. Mason went 7.1 innings and allowed no earned runs. Sherman Harrison, credited with the save, is now 24 for 25 in save opportunities. Washington is now 44-50.
Owen Kieffer had the most critical at-bat for Washington. With two in the top of the ninth inning, Kieffer hit a 1-2 fastball from Chet Gustafson for a 2-run double. It put Washington in front, 4-2.
"I like the grit of this ballclub," Kieffer said.
