Generals Saddle Cauldrons with 5-3 Loss
|
Starting pitcher Phillip Donoghue pitched well enough to help the Washington Generals beat the Hogsmeade Cauldrons by the score of 5-3. The winning pitcher was Donoghue, now 4-9. He tossed 6.2 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 0 and fanning 6. Sherman Harrison earned the save for Washington, his 23rd of the year.
Making an impact for Washington was shortstop Fernando Acevedo. He drilled a 2-run single in the top of the fourth. For the game, Acevedo went 1 for 5, while adding 2 RBI.
"In baseball, you have your ups and downs," said Hogsmeade manager . "You just try to stay level-headed the whole time."
With the win, Washington goes to 43-50, while the Cauldrons fall to 25-68.
