Athletic Club KC starter António Martínez pitched effectively against the Washington Generals at ACKC Youth Field. The right-hander led his team to a 6-3 win. Athletic Club KC reliever Juan Salinas picked up the win to move to 3-2. Walt Crouch suffered the loss. Washington, at 38-44, has lost 4 straight.
Athletic Club KC grabbed control in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, Mario Truxillo delivered a run-scoring single, to make it 4-3 in favor of the U-24.
"We had a good game plan," Martínez said, "and we were able to execute it."
