Generals Win at Kennesaw, 4-1
|
Washington and Kennesaw got after it at Jets Stadium.
The Washington Generals got a stellar performance from pitcher Dan Fletcher, who handcuffed the Kennesaw offense en route to a 4-1 win at Jets Stadium. Sherman Harrison got the save, the 17th for him this season.
In the top of the 6th, first baseman Dan Vanblarcom gave Washington the lead when he hit a 2-run home run. The Generals had been trailing 1-0, but the two-out home run off Kennesaw pitcher Shunsho Mizuno changed that -- and Washington went on to win.
"It was a tough night at the plate," said Kennesaw manager António Sáenz.
The Generals now have a mark of 31-35.
