Generals Sneak Past Cauldrons, 4-3
|
The Washington Generals defeated the Hogsmeade Cauldrons, 4-3, in USSL Single A action at Washington Park, with Washington left fielder Raúl Ocasio named player of the game. Augusto Morín picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-1. Joe Wilson was tagged with the loss. Sherman Harrison got the save, the 15th for him this season.
Fernando Acevedo, who is tied for 6th in the SA in triples with 3, helped out the Washington cause in the bottom of the fifth inning with a run-scoring double. For the game, the shortstop was 1 for 4 with a double.
"We'll enjoy this win," said Ocasio. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
The Cauldrons, now 14-44, have lost 8 in a row.
