Victory Pushes Jets Record to 30-22
|
Benefiting from Thierry Honoré's productive game, the Kennesaw Jets downed the Niagara Falls Expos, 5-2. Honoré went 3-4 with 2 doubles and a walk, while scoring 3 times for the Jets. Cristóbal Román got credit for the win, improving to 8-2. He allowed 2 runs on 5 hits in 6 innings. Getting the save was Eduardo Flores, his 1st.
Clancy Powell drew 1 walk for Kennesaw. The 24-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the top of the sixth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring walk off William Penn. It was his 10th walk of the season.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Kennesaw skipper António Sáenz.
The Jets saw their win-loss record go to 30-22. At the same time, the Expos fell to 26-26.
