Donoghue on Fire, Strikes out 15 Dragonblood
|
Phillip Donoghue of the Washington Generals put on a pitching clinic today at Washington Park as he struck out 15 Yellowknife Dragonblood in a 2-1 victory. Donoghue, who is tied for 2nd in the SA with a 11.3 K/9 rate, was simply magnificent as he held the Dragonblood to 4 hits. He walked 5.
"I felt okay at the beginning," Donoghue said, "but eventually my splitter really started working. I also have to thank my catcher for calling a great game."
When asked about Donoghue's performance, Generals manager Jacob Curtis shook his head and said, "Yeah, he was good out there today. He was dominating."
To date this year, Donoghue shows a 3-3 record, 7 starts, 45.1 innings, 57 strikeouts and a 4.17 ERA.
