Rainbow Mermaids Win at Panama City, 3-0
|
The Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids picked up a win at The Tank, knocking off the Panama City Piranhas, 3-0. Starting pitcher Ramón Molina, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Iván García earned the save for Northern Virginia, his 4th of the year. The Piranhas fall to 5-7 and continue to sputter in the early going.
Eustacio Tafalla, who is considered the best prospect in baseball by BNN, helped out the Northern Virginia cause in the top of the eighth inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the shortstop went 1-4.
"I like our moxie," said Rainbow Mermaids manager David Lister.
