The Wizarding Express picked up a win at Platform 9 3/4, knocking off the New Amsterdam Dutchmen, 4-3. Starting pitcher Juan Contreras played a key role in the triumph. Wizarding reliever Eijiro Takahashi picked up the win, bumping his record to 1-0. Kyle Boddy was collared with the loss. Dorian Daly sewed up the save, his 1st.
Wizarding grabbed control in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, António Boccanegra delivered a run-scoring single, to make it 4-3 in favor of the Express.
"We had the game right there for the taking," said New Amsterdam manager Sal Gaudio. "But we decided not to take it."
Wizarding, now 2-4, is off to a slow start.
