Reapers Get Win, Extend Streak to 4
|
Grim designated hitter Qwuntrezz Knight was instrumental in his team's 9-6 win over the Hogsmeade Cauldrons. Knight, who is tied for 4th in the SA in hits with 24, went 4-4 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Reapers. Kabeya Kasongo was the winning pitcher. Over 5.2 innings, he allowed 4 runs on 8 hits, with 2 walks and 8 strikeouts. Chet Gustafson closed the door for Grim, picking up his 2nd save of the year.
Bearooz Yacoobi had a big 2-run double for the Reapers in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Grim leading 4-2 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he got a fastball from Joe Wilson and stroked the double to left-center. It was his 5th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Reapers ahead, 6-2.
"I like the roll we're on," said Grim manager Enrique Zumaya.
Grim is off to a sluggish start, getting just their 5th win in 16 games.
