Jets Prevail, 6-4, Over Grim
|
The Kennesaw Jets topped the Grim Reapers, 6-4, in USSL Single A action at Jets Stadium. The player of the game was Kennesaw pitcher and Sasebo, Japan native Shunsho Mizuno. Mizuno, now 2-0, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 8 hits, while striking out 9, walking 2, and allowing 4 earned runs. Owen Schultz earned the save for Kennesaw, his 3rd of the year.
Had Sandor Addicks not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Addicks hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 5-4, in favor of the Jets.
"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Addicks said.
Kennesaw, now 5-3, has gotten their season off to a good start.
