The Kennesaw Jets got a strong performance from pitcher Shunsho Mizuno, who stymied the Valley offense en route to a 3-1 win at The Heron Refuge. The Jets, now 3-0, have been on a roll in the early going.
Javier De La Garza aided the Kennesaw cause with a 2-run triple in the top of the second. For the game, the first baseman was 2-4 with a triple, while adding 2 RBI.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Mizuno told reporters after the game.
