The Belleville Bulls stymied the Louisiana Dragoons, 3-2, at Belleville Field. Rey McSriff, who had a good day at the plate, was named player of the game. He went 2 for 4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for Belleville. Belleville reliever Ken Dundee picked up the win, upping his record to 3-0. Greg Kennamer was saddled with the loss. Kevin Pilkington, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 11th save.
McSriff had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a first pitch sinker from Greg Kennamer, he banged a solo home run to left, giving the Bulls a 3-2 lead. It was the 2nd home run of the year for McSriff.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Belleville manager P.J. Price said.
Belleville is now 39-53.
