The Syracuse Storm knocked off the Highwood Hawks, 6-3, at Hawks Field. Seung-min Sin, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Syracuse won. The designated hitter went 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Donnie Rawling got the win, improving to 5-6. He worked 6.1 innings, giving up 3 runs on 6 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 5. Peter Ventola notched his 3rd save in 3 chances.
Sin had a game-changing single in the top of the seventh. On a 2-1 fastball from Eisse Tak, he banged a 2-run single to left, giving the Storm a 5-3 lead. It was the 35th hit of the year for Sin.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Sin told the Syracuse Gazette.
The Storm saw their win-loss record go to 51-40. At the same time, the Hawks fell to 42-49.
