Airmen Get Road Win, 3-2
|
The Alameda Airmen got a stellar performance from pitcher José Vélez, who handcuffed the Louisiana offense en route to a 3-2 win at Dragoons War Memorial Stadium. Vélez went 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 1, and struck out 6. His record improves to 5-3. Alameda, at 47-41, sits in 5th place in the Menard's A.
Alameda used the timely hitting of Miracle Crimes to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Airmen on top, 3-1. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"I really like what we did out there today," Vélez said after the game.
