Getting an impressive start from Dru Krebs, Mt. Vernon beat Nebraska by the score of 4-2. Nate Randall was credited with the save for Mt. Vernon, his 9th of the season. This win makes it 6 in a row for Mt. Vernon.
The Bulls got a big at-bat from center fielder Mike Howard. For the game, Howard was 1 for 4 with a triple, while adding 2 RBI. In the top of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run triple. His 2nd triple of the season gave Mt. Vernon a 3-1 lead.
