The Mt. Vernon Bulls topped the Highwood Hawks, 5-0, with youngster Angeddy Almanzar playing a key role. Almanzar went 3-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4 for the Bulls in the win. Francisco Guillén got the win, improving to 2-1. He held the Hawks to no earned runs on 3 hits over 7.1 innings, while striking out 6 and walking 2. The Bulls now have a record of 18-15 with the win over Highwood.

Almanzar had a big at-bat with runners on 1st and 2nd in the bottom of the third inning, when he hit a 3-run home run. The Bulls went on to win.
