Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles got the win.

Chesapeake got a terrific game from second baseman Tomás Valdéz. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Mercer Island, 4-3. Valdéz was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He was 2 for 3 with a home run and a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Mercer Island is now 62-40, Chesapeake 56-46.

Yu-shu Kang, who is rated as the 17th best prospect by BNN, helped out the Mercer Island cause in the bottom of the seventh inning with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. For the game, the center fielder drove in one run.

"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," Chesapeake manager Joe Richard said following the tough loss.
