Victory Over Youth Takes Lake Minnetonka to 60-38
|
The exploits of center fielder Su-wu Xiao, who is rated as the 37th best prospect by BNN, helped the Lake Minnetonka Love Boats defeat the Phoenix Hotspur Youth, 6-2. Xiao was 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 times. Inaki Maira picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 7-1. Alberto Solís was tagged with the loss. Juan Sánchez closed it out for his 18th save.
Francisco Guerra, who leads the PAA in runs scored with 69, helped out the Lake Minnetonka cause in the top of the eighth inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the first baseman went 1 for 3 with a double and a walk. He drove in 2 runs.
In postgame comments to the Lake Minnetonka Gazette, Xiao said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
The second-place Love Boats raised their record to 60-38.
