Loons Get One-Run Win at Northville
|
The Minnesota Loons turned back the Northville Eclipse, 5-4, at Old-Timers Park. Ramón Yniguez was named player of the game for his fine performance. He was 3 for 3 with 3 singles and a walk. The Eclipse, now 48-47, have lost 5 straight.
Minnesota used the timely hitting of Héctor Espiga to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Loons on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," Northville manager Juan Padilla said following the tough loss.
