Youth Stymie Richland, Take 8-1 Win
|
Rails Ballpark was the site for USPL Double A action featuring the Richland Rails and Phoenix Hotspur Youth.
Phoenix Hotspur starter Abdel Alamini put a stranglehold on the Richland offense. The right-hander had complete command of his cutter in leading the Youth to a 8-1 win. Alamini went 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 3, and struck out 4. His record improves to 1-5.
Braylen Sampson went 1-3 with a double, a walk, and was hit by a pitch against the Rails. In the top of the first inning, he got hit by a pitch, driving in 1 run, putting Phoenix Hotspur in front, 1-0.
"I'm proud of the boys for pulling through," said Youth manager Junior Benítez. "The wins don't come easy for this team, but everyone's got an extra jump in their step after a game like this."
Phoenix Hotspur is now 31-62, while Richland is 36-57.
